Your First Aquarium

Aquariums can sometime appear intimidating. All you need to remember is to follow a few simple steps:

  1. Dont rush into things, take your time.
    1. you need
      • An aquarium, the most you can afford personally I recommend a 20 gallon or larger (i will explain later)
      • gravel, usually 1 to 1.5 pounds per gallon.
      • a lid (usually with a light) some fish have a tendency to jump.
      • filter Usually buy a filter that will handle an aquarium double the size
      • optional a heater unless you plan on having only goldfish. There is a vast selection of tropical fish.
      • Some kind of a sturdy stand, full aquariums can weigh in excess of 10 pounds per gallon in weight.
  2. When you get home

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
